The home buying process for an experienced buyer can be a bit unnerving but for a first time home buyer it can be overwhelming, mainly because you are treading unfamiliar territory.
We do our best to make it a pleasant experience beginning with taking the time to explain the process, educating you when viewing homes, and being dilligent to make sure the process goes smoothly and timely.
This page offers a brief explanation of the home buying process. However, we do invite you to a personal home buyers consultation where the process can be explained indepth, making you a confident buyer. Please ask your Preferred REALTOR for a home buyers consultation before you begin the home shopping process.
The stages to purchasing a home:
1. Get pre-qualifed for a loan 2. Establish a working relationship with your REALTOR 3. Shop the market 4. Enter into a contract 5. Perform home inspections 6. Perform a final walk-thru prior to closing 7. Close on the home and get the keys
The first thing you need to know is how much loan you qualify for, what those monthly mortgage payments would be, and what loan is best for you. This information is obtained in the loan pre-qualification vs pre-approval process.
Next you will want to establish a working relationship with a REALTOR. REALTORS are a valuable source of information and without them most homes cannot be purchased.
The home shopping stage is exciting and particularly so after you have been pre-approved because now you are a confident buyer. The home shopping process can take days, weeks and in some cases months. Be sure that the REALTOR you work with is patient and is focused upon your needs and fulfilling them to your satisfaction.
